Circuit Breakers

  • Type B RCCB
  • 2 or 4 poles
  • For AC & DC
  • Durability: 20000 cycles
  • IP40 / IP20

Type B RCCB

RCCBs are circuit breakers with overcurrent protection to monitor electrical circuits. They keep them running safely, when charging your electric car. RCCB are commonly used when there is a need to combine protection against overload, short circuit and earth leakage currents.

Type B RCCBs are required in modern electric vehicle charging devices to minmize risk of fire or electric shock. They act as a critical safety mechanism when the electricity supply gets disconnected. Our RCCBs can withstand very high loads, which makes them suitable for high-performing devices with a high charging capacity.

Due to high connection capacity, they have no measurable effect on charging time. They are not only suitable for EV chargers, but are used in a wide range of applications.

Applications

  • Solar power systems
  • EV charging station
  • Frequency converters
  • UPS installations
  • High-frequency power converters
  • Bulding site power supply cabinets

Type 2 Charger Sockets

Type 2 sockets are designed to sustain charging speeds from 3kW-50kW, making them ideal to charge at home overnight. Our EV charging system sockets are universally suitable for the Type 2 charging cable. The sockets are fitted for any AC charging rate up to 22kW. The format for charging points in France is a little different.

The sockets are available with one or three phases. They are ideal to charge at home with slow charging and AC fast charging. They support 32A/250V (single phase) and 32A/480VAC (three-phased).

EV Charging Connector Types

EV drivers should check which plug formats their car is compatible with. Charging an electric car battery is not the same as filling up a petrol or diesel automobile. Not all EVs are compatible with all charging formats and socket connectors. Availabe formats not only vary between charging devices, but also from region to region. The standard format for charging points in Europe is the Type 2 socket.

info orangeINFO: Public charge points in France use a slight variation of the Type 2 plug, called Type 2S. The only difference to standard Type 2 plugs is that the Type 2S is equipped with a shutter.

At a first glance, the variety of charging connectors seems complicated. However, it is actually fairly simple. With public charging infrastructure growing and EV plugs becoming more standardised, the process is getting more and more simple.

There are three primary types of chargers. The name hints as to what charging speed can be expected. Each has a different power output and hence a variable charging pace.

EV Charger Types

  • Slow chargers may charge up to 3.6 kW, take 6-12 hours to fully charge, and are most typically used at home.
  • Fast chargers charge between 7 and 22 kW in 3-5 hours. They are now the most prevalent form of public charging outlet.
  • Rapid and ultra rapid charging points have power outputs ranging from 50kWh to 300–350kWh. Thus, they can fully recharge an EV in as little as 30 minutes. They are typically found in big shopping malls, parking lots, and highway service stations.

All connector types support different charging speeds. This is why rapid chargers usually have different connectors than slow or fast chargers.
